To help candidates better understand the admission policies and educational advantages of theAulinCollege, Northeast Forestry University, in collaboration with its overseas partner, the University of Auckland (referred to as "UoA"), held an online Open Day event on June 13th in the 708 Smart Cloud Classroom ofAulinCollege. Professor Liu Zhiming, the dean ofAulinCollege, along with relevant faculty and staff members of the college, Professor Sebastian Link, the deputy dean of the Faculty of Science at UoA, Dr. Gordon Miskelly, the head of the Department of Chemistry, and Dr. John Taylor, the deputy head of the Department of Biology, participated in this event. The event was co-hosted by Li Tong, an academic English teacher atAulinCollege, in both Chinese and English. The live broadcast of this Open Day event atAulinCollege was viewed by nearly 1,200 people in total.
At the event, representatives from both schools first extended a warm welcome to the parents and candidates. Professor Sebastian Link, the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science at the University of Auckland, introduced the University of Auckland, a national treasure of New Zealand. Dean Liu Zhiming gave a detailed presentation on the basic situation, educational model and other aspects of theAulinCollege. Through a video message from the University of Auckland's President Dawn Freshwater and the college's recruitment promotion video, the parents and candidates were shown the college's internationalized cultivation, teaching staff, educational environment and the study and life situation in Auckland University. Three foreign professional directors respectively provided detailed introductions on the cultivation model, research directions, professional teaching staff and employment prospects ofAulinCollege students after they go abroad to Auckland University.
During the final Q&A session, candidates and parents actively raised questions. President Liu Zhiming and the teachers from the Faculty of Science of the University of Hong Kong answered them online in person. The response was very enthusiastic.
