On the afternoon of July 9th, Vice President Liu Yong of Ocean University of China and his team came to our school for research and held a symposium to learn about the construction of our school's Sino-foreign cooperative education institution. Vice President Li Shunlong of our school and relevant leaders ofAulinCollege participated in the research and symposium. Liu Zhiming, the dean ofAulinCollege, presided over the symposium.
At the symposium, Vice President Li Shunlong of Northeast Forestry University extended a warm welcome to Vice President Liu Yong and his delegation from Ocean University of China. He stated that the visit of Ocean University of China to our university for research and investigation would greatly assist in the development of our university's Sino-foreign cooperative education institutions. This research activity reflects the deep friendship between the two universities and he hopes that more exchanges and cooperation can be carried out between the two universities. Vice President Li Shunlong also briefly introduced the 70-year development history of Northeast Forestry University and the progress of international exchange and cooperation, with a particular focus on the situation of Sino-foreign cooperative education and international student recruitment at our university.
Vice President Liu Yong of Ocean University of China stated that both Ocean University of China and Northeast Forestry University are distinctive universities with a deep friendship between them. There are many similarities in their talent cultivation concepts, and the talent cultivation system and practices of Northeast Forestry University have greatly inspired Ocean University of China. Vice President Liu Yong introduced the unique development history of Ocean University of China and the development and construction of its four campuses, with a focus on the university's Sino-foreign cooperative education and international student recruitment. He elaborated on the construction of the International Education College, the Haidian College, and other Sino-foreign cooperative education projects. He pointed out that in the construction of Sino-foreign cooperative education institutions, both sides should discuss and cooperate on issues such as educational concepts, management and operation systems, quality assurance systems, faculty and student management, learn from each other's strengths, and jointly improve.
Yu Yang, the Party Secretary ofAulinCollege, delivered a keynote speech titled "Building a '4-3' Party Building Work System to Fortify the 'Red Fortress' of Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education". He introduced the Party building work system established byAulinCollege in response to the characteristics and challenges of Sino-foreign cooperative education. He also detailed the specific measures and achievements ofAulinCollege in strengthening the comprehensive leadership of the Party, reinforcing the educational direction, enhancing ideological guidance, and leveraging the role of Party members.
President Liu Zhiming ofAulinCollege introduced the general situation of the college and the recent work of the college. He elaborated on the administrative management of the Sino-foreign cooperative education institution of our university from aspects such as the operation and management of the college, the construction of the teaching staff, and talent cultivation. President Liu Zhiming particularly introduced the dual degree joint training program with the University of Western Australia and the professional construction and undergraduate education work of the college.
Chen Zhonghong, the executive deputy director of the University Anniversary Office of Ocean University of China, praised theAulinCollege as a vigorous, pragmatic and rigorous college that has built a platform for students to cultivate an international perspective. Wen Haishen, the vice dean of the College of Fisheries, said that the system construction and educational space ofAulinCollege are worth learning from, and he is willing to learn from and exchange with Donglin. Jia Tengfei, the director of the Office of the Heide College, said that the sincere love of the leaders and staff of Donglin for the education cause is touching.
At the symposium, both sides had a cordial exchange and spoke freely. They shared advanced experiences in Sino-foreign cooperative education in various universities and discussed specific details such as the setting of teaching positions and the framework of the curriculum system. Both sides expressed their willingness to further deepen exchanges and cooperation to promote the common development of the two universities.
After the symposium, under the lead of President Liu Zhiming, the participants visited the teaching and office environments ofAulinCollege, which showcased the achievements of the smart classroom construction ofAulinCollege.
