Aulin College held a meeting for graduate students of all grades

To further promote the postgraduate education and management of the college, enhance communication and connection, and strengthen students' understanding of various postgraduate training procedures, study abroad preparations, and epidemic prevention and control policies, the college held a meeting for postgraduate students of all grades in Room 609 of the Aulin Building from September 20th to 23rd.

On the afternoon of September 20th, the college held a video conference with eight master's students from theAulinCollege who are currently studying at the University of Auckland in New Zealand. Dean Liu Zhiming first extended warm greetings and best wishes to the students on behalf of the college. Then, he emphasized the academic norms for theses at both the Northeast Forestry University and the University of Auckland, and urged the students to study hard at the University of Auckland, communicate actively with both Chinese and foreign supervisors, take good care of themselves during the pandemic, and return home with their studies successfully completed as soon as possible.

On the morning of September 22nd, the College held an online meeting with the Faculty of Science of the University of Auckland. Present at the meeting were Liu Zhiming, the dean of the College ofAulin, Li Na, the director of the International Project Center, and Li Lingyu, a teacher. Also in attendance were Associate Professor Bruce Burns from the Faculty of Science of the University of Auckland, the 2021 batch of regular postgraduate students, and relevant staff members. The meeting mainly discussed the current academic progress of the 2021 batch of regular postgraduate students and their academic plans after going to the University of Auckland.

Bruce Burns first interpreted the training models of the two types of master's degrees awarded by the University of Auckland, and from the perspective of disciplines and specialties, suggested that postgraduate students choose the appropriate training model. Secondly, he introduced the research directions and achievements of each postgraduate supervisor in the Department of Ecology, Faculty of Science, University of Auckland. Finally, he looked forward to meeting all the students in Auckland, New Zealand in 2023 as scheduled.

Director Li Na interpreted the training model and credit transfer policies of the University of Auckland, and kindly inquired about the academic progress of the students. President Liu Zhiming hoped that all students could have good communication with their foreign supervisors, and suggested that students should choose a suitable training model as early as possible in combination with their personal development plans. The college will also provide all-out assistance to the students.

On the morning of September 23rd, the college held a meeting for the 2022-level master's students to meet their Chinese and foreign supervisors. Present at the meeting were Liu Zhiming, the dean of theAulinCollege, Luo Wei, the deputy secretary of the Party Committee, Li Na, the director of the International Project Center, Li Lingyu, Huang Jiying, the counselor for graduate students, representatives of Chinese and foreign supervisors, all the 2022-level master's students and relevant staff members.

Professor Wang Xiaochun, the representative of the Forestry College's mentors, first congratulated all the students on embarking on a higher-level degree program and introduced the development history of the ecology discipline, the teaching staff, and the talent cultivation work. Teacher Wang Xingchang hoped that the students would love Donglin and gain something during their study here, and wished all the students a successful completion of their studies. Teacher Du Zhenggang encouraged everyone to make double efforts and gain double rewards under the new cooperative education model for international students in the postgraduate program.

President Liu Zhiming engaged in an exchange with the students on aspects such as the master's training model, academic management, and academic standards for theses of both Chinese and foreign parties at the University of Auckland. He also reminded the new students to attach importance to the study of academic English, focus on the cultivation of language output ability, and choose a research direction and degree type suitable for their future plans based on their personal development goals, so as to achieve academic success and truly grow into outstanding international talents.

Bruce Burns first extended a warm welcome to all the students on behalf of the Department of Ecology at the University of Auckland. He introduced the research directions and achievements of each graduate supervisor and encouraged the students to make good use of the university's website to fully understand the research directions of each supervisor and actively get in touch with them. Finally, he interpreted the two types of master's degree awarding models of the University of Auckland and, from the perspective of academic disciplines, suggested that graduate students choose the appropriate training model.

Deputy Secretary Luo Wei conveyed the latest requirements for epidemic prevention and control at the school and emphasized that it is especially important to resolutely implement all the requirements for epidemic prevention and control at the school and abide by all the daily management regulations.
