To help the freshmen of 2022 gain a better understanding of their major, theAulinCollege organized a series of professional education lectures for the freshmen of 2022 on October 12th and 19th. The lectures were given by the heads of each major, Peng Jinsong, Teng Zhixia, Liu Jie and Shi Jinming.
Professor Peng Jinsong, the head of the Chemistry program atAulinCollege, emphasized the status, role and significance of the natural science center for the chemistry program in the lecture. He particularly urged the freshmen to change their learning methods, develop the ability of active learning, attach importance to English learning, lay a solid vocabulary foundation early, and get ready for the all-English major courses.
Associate Professor Teng Zhixia, the newly appointed head of the Computer Science and Technology program atAulinCollege, introduced to the students the current development status and disciplinary advantages of the computer science disciplines atNEFUand the University of Auckland, emphasized that the Computer Science and Technology program atAulinCollege is a new training model of strong alliance, and hoped that the students would have a sense of patriotism, aim for the world, and become skilled, International engineering and technical talents with the ability.
Associate Professor Liu Jie, the head of the Engineering Management program atAulinCollege, highlights the importance of cultural and language confidence in learning through her own overseas study experience. She explains in detail what students should learn and how to learn during their college years. Finally, by showing the new students the excellent modeling design works of previous students, Ms. Liu strengthened the students' confidence and motivation to learn professional knowledge well.
Associate Professor Shi Jinming, the head of the Biotechnology program atAulinCollege, introduced the overview and characteristics of the biology program, emphasizing that biology is a thriving basic science that requires continuous learning.NEFUUniversity andAulinUniversity provideAulinCollege students with an excellent teaching team with a strong professional background, and 1+1>2 is a unique and valuable resource forAulinCollege students. With the help ofAulin, the freshmen of 2022 should be confident about the future, like their seniors, going to Tsinghua University, Peking University, and stepping onto the broad international stage to become international innovators who are the pride ofNEFUand the pride of the motherland.
Starting from the characteristics of their respective disciplines and combining the features of Sino-foreign cooperative education, the heads of each major vividly explained the background, training objectives and requirements, curriculum system and professional faculty of the major to the freshmen of 2022. They also took the students of 2019 as an example to introduce to the freshmen the different development paths of studying abroad, being recommended for postgraduate studies, taking the postgraduate entrance examination and employment in the future. This has enabled the 2022 freshmen to have a clearer understanding of their major, laying the foundation and clarifying the direction for their future study plans and development.
