Aulin College held a research symposium to support the development of the discipline of ecology

In order to actively practice the concept of ecological civilization, vigorously carry forward the Saihanba spirit, take on responsibilities in self-cultivation and learning, cultivating trees and people, protecting the green mountains and clear waters, and building an ecological barrier, deeply study and implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, improve the quality of talent cultivation, and contribute to the revitalization of Heilongjiang, On the afternoon of October 24th, Liu Zhiming, the dean of Aulin College, Yu Yang, the Party secretary, Luo Wei, the deputy secretary, along with Huang Jiying, the graduate student counselor, and Liu Xiangyue, the secretary, conducted a research visit to the ecological discipline of the College of Forestry, focusing on the joint training of dual master's and doctoral students in ecology, teacher training, and international scientific research cooperation. Yang Guang, the vice dean of the college of Forestry, and Professor Wang Xiaochun, the head of the discipline, and other relevant teachers attended the symposium.

Vice Dean Yang Guang first extended a warm welcome on behalf of the College to President Liu Zhiming and his delegation. She said that since the launch of the double master's program in ecology at Aulin College, the internationalized educational characteristics have been obvious and the quality of students has been improving year by year. It is hoped that the participants can communicate fully, support each other during the training process, and jointly do a good job in the training of postgraduate students in Sino-foreign cooperative education.

President Liu Zhiming introduced the overseas study and recommendation of the first batch of undergraduate students of the Aulin College and the Engineering Management cooperative program, the study of the first batch of master's students in ecology at the University of Auckland, the joint training of postgraduate students of the Aulin Joint Research Institute, and the training of overseas teachers. Secretary Yu Yang first thanked the mentors of the ecology discipline for their hard work in the training of Aulin's postgraduate students. He said that this symposium provided a good platform for further communication between the colleges and hoped that they would maintain closer contact in the future to take the postgraduate training work to a new level. Vice Secretary Luo Wei said that during the epidemic prevention and control period, all the mentors have actively cooperated with the approval work for the off-campus experiments and internships of the Aulin College's postgraduate students. He welcomed the mentors to communicate and exchange at any time regarding student management and other aspects.

Subsequently, representatives of the ecology discipline mentors, including Guoqing Xi, Wang Xiaochun, Zhou Zhenghu, Liu Zhili, Zhang Quanzhi and Wang Xiangrong, spoke in turn and had a thorough exchange on the problems discovered during the training process, the overall performance of the students, and suggestions for further improvement and enhancement.

Vice President Yang Guang summarized the issues raised by both sides at this symposium and provided feedback on the experience, practices and prominent problems of the joint cultivation of dual master's degree students in the College of Forestry. He introduced the work ideas and measures from the perspectives of enrollment promotion, training links and student management, and put forward suggestions such as setting up exemplary examples of outstanding students to promote the learning atmosphere.

Finally, President Liu Zhiming said that on the occasion of the successful convening of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, it is very meaningful and rewarding to conduct research and seek advice from the College of Forestry, relying on the ecological discipline to practice the concept of ecological civilization and cultivate high-level international talents in ecology. It lays a good foundation for the next step of work and is also a comprehensive implementation of the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China by the college.  Aulin College has always attached great importance to the joint training of dual master's degree students in ecology. To solve the existing problems, all parties need to cooperate closely and build consensus. In the future, efforts will continue to be made to cultivate new talents of The Times through the Sino-foreign cooperative education model of NEFU, and contribute the wisdom of the college to the construction of ecological civilization and the cultivation of trees and people.
