The 2022 Fall semester meeting of the Academic Steering Committee (AAB) of the Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education Program between Northeast Forestry University and the University of Auckland was held via remote video in Room 609 ofAulinCollege at 9:00 a.m. Beijing time on November 22, 2022.
President Liu Zhiming and Vice President Zhao Lihua ofAulinCollege, Professor Sebastian Link, Deputy Minister for International Affairs of the Faculty of Science at the University of Auckland, Professor Duncan McGillivray, Deputy Minister for Academic Affairs, and Professor Allen Rodrigo, Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences The meeting was attended by the heads of the cooperative programs of the two schools, as well as the heads of relevant departments and representatives of relevant sections.

The meeting began with a brief report and exchange on the transfer of the 2019 undergraduate students ofAulinCollege to the University of Auckland for study. At the same time, in-depth discussions were conducted on the problems existing in the students' learning process and how to help students change their learning mindset and academic integrity.

Then the teaching operation in the fall semester of 2022 was summarized. The two sides exchanged views on the individual problems that emerged in the teaching process this semester and how to optimize online teaching, and discussed and planned the teaching work for the next semester. The heads of each major on both sides said that after a round of adjustment, under the challenge of the epidemic, the teachers of each major on both sides worked in perfect harmony and the courses were carried out steadily as planned. Next, teachers from both sides need to enhance timely and effective communication, establish a smoother communication platform and channel between students and foreign teachers, so as to identify problems in the teaching process in a timely manner, optimize the curriculum system and help students get into the learning state faster.
Finally, both sides agreed to make preparations in advance for the in-person teaching of the University of Auckland faculty team atNEFUin the fall semester of 2023, and look forward to in-depth face-to-face exchanges withNEFUteachers and students at that time.
The Academic Steering Committee meeting, which was jointly held by representatives fromAulinCollege and the Faculty of Science at the University of Auckland, reached consensus on several topics including the study arrangements forAulin's "3+2" model students and ecology master's students at the University of Auckland, academic integrity, and undergraduate teaching. It also provides a guarantee forAulinCollege to continue to improve its teaching design, enhance teaching effectiveness and improve the quality of talent cultivation.
