Aulin College and the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences at Aston University are hosting Class 20 overseas students in Engineering Management Pre-departure education briefing

On November 28 at 18:00 in Rooms 301 and 401 ofAulinBuilding, all of the 2020 class of Engineering Management atAulinCollege attended an online pre-departure education presentation for overseas students jointly organized byAulinCollege and the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences at Aston University. Sylvia Wong, Associate Dean of the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences (International) at Aston University, Project Leader Gayan Wedawatta, Northeast Asia Regional Manager Sarah Tsai, Director of the International Project Center Li Na, 2020 Engineering Management counselor Huang Jiying, 2021 Engineering Management counselor Lyu Chang and graduate representatives attended the meeting The meeting was hosted online by Junying Jia, Manager of the Development and Cooperation Department of Aston University.

Gayan Wedawatta, the head of the Engineering Management co-education program, gave a warm welcome to the students who will be studying at Aston University in the coming year and gave a detailed account of the courses for the final year of the Engineering Management program and future employment prospects.

Sarah Tsai, the Northeast Asia regional manager of Aston University, introduced the geographical environment and transportation advantages of Birmingham, the second most international city in the UK, and through the promotional video introduced Aston University's strong academic atmosphere, comfortable and convenient living conditions, as well as the teaching mode of the program abroad and the all-round guarantee of students' professional skills improvement.

Sylvia Wong, associate dean of the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences (International) at Aston University, introduced to the students what Aston University can offer them, such as school facilities and accommodation conditions. In addition, Aston University has a student advice centre that offers free professional counseling services to help students solve their individualized academic and life problems.

Outstanding student representatives of the Engineering Management major of the 2018 grade, Jia Runxiao, Hou Yuhan and Sun Chenhao, respectively gave detailed introductions to the students on how to effectively utilize the learning resources of Aston University, the differences in learning at home and abroad, and the issues to be noted when going abroad.

To help the students better understand the situation, a question-and-answer session was set up at the end of the meeting. During this session, the students actively participated in the interaction and raised questions on aspects such as mastering English skills, future development directions (postgraduate entrance examination and employment), and flight transfer issues. The teachers and student representatives present patiently answered each question, and the students gained a clearer understanding of some necessary preparations before going abroad.
