The 2022 Joint Management Committee meeting of Sino-foreign Cooperative Education Institutions between our university and the University of Auckland was successfully held

On December 6, the Joint Management Committee (JMC) meeting between our university and the University of Auckland for 2022 was held online in Room 609 ofAulinCollege. Zhai Xuefeng, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice president of our university, Professor John Hosking, the head of the Faculty of Science at the University of Auckland, and the heads of relevant departments including the Academic Affairs Office and the International Office of both universities attended the meeting online.

Sun Zhiping, director of the International Cooperation Office of our university, on behalf of the International Cooperation Office, thanked the Faculty of Science and the International Department of the University of Auckland for their full efforts in promoting international exchanges and cooperation between the two universities, especially their strong support for the development and construction of theAulinCollege. Thanks to the joint efforts of both sides,AulinCollege has overcome the adverse effects of the pandemic and achieved remarkable results in education and teaching, which have been widely recognized by students' parents and the community. Based on the Sino-foreign cooperative education institutions, the two schools have continuously innovated the model of international cooperation and established the Overseas Study Center and theAulinJoint Research Institute, providing a new platform for promoting the cultivation of high-level international talents and international scientific research cooperation. The International Cooperation Office will, as always, fully support the exchanges and cooperation between the two schools and help them reach new heights.

Ainslie Moore, acting Director of the International Department of the University of Austria, expressed his gratitude to the colleagues ofNEFUfor their strong support in the development of the cooperative education program atAulinCollege. This year, the university welcomed its first batch of graduate students fromAulinCollege, and early next year, the first batch of 2019 undergraduate students from the "3+2" program will also study at the university. This is the result of the joint efforts of both sides. We look forward to more students fromNEFUUniversity coming to study at the university and realizing their dreams through the cooperation platform.

Liu Zhiming, dean ofAulinCollege, Zhao Lihua, vice dean ofAulinCollege, and Sebastian Link, deputy dean of the Faculty of Science ofAulinCollege, respectively reported to the joint management committee on the progress of the cooperation between the two universities this year. Liu gave a detailed account ofAulinCollege's 2022 undergraduate and postgraduate admissions, student training, the conversion rate of the first batch of 2019 students studying abroad under the "3+2" training model, the progress of theAulinJoint Research Institute, and key tasks for next year.

Zhao Lihua, the vice dean ofAulinCollege, introduced the operation of teaching in the college over the past year. She said that after three years of in-depth cooperation, the teaching staff of the two schools has become more stable, the degree of cooperation has increased, and the teaching work has been carried out in an orderly manner. She looks forward to the teachers of the two schools conducting offline teaching and exchanges next year.

Professor Sebastian Link, deputy dean of the Faculty of Science at Austrian University, thanked theNEFUteam for their great efforts in improving the conversion rate of students going abroad, gave a detailed introduction to the services and support provided by Austrian University, and welcomed teachers fromNEFUto exchange and study at Austrian University.

Zhai Xuefeng, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice president of our university, and John Hosking, head of the Faculty of Science of our university, made concluding remarks on behalf of their respective institutions. Zhai said that the university attaches great importance to the cooperation with the University of Auckland. With the joint efforts of both sides, the first batch of 2019 students ofAulinCollege have achieved a good start in choosing the "3+2" training model. Nearly 150Aulinstudents will go to study at the University of Auckland. He hopes that both sides will do a good job in the academic arrangement of students and the course training of teachers. John Hosking, the head of the Faculty of Science at Auckland University, expressed gratitude to colleagues from both universities for their hard work, which has enabled the students ofNEFUto smoothly integrate into the study and life at Auckland University. The two schools have been tested by the pandemic and time. Our friendship has deepened and our cooperation has continued to advance. We hope to meet our colleagues in person next year.

The meeting fully discussed and reached consensus on the development path of students under the "3+2" training model, the construction of international joint laboratories, the joint training of doctoral students and the holding of the 2023 international academic Conference, which will play a positive role in promoting the future development ofAulinCollege.AulinCollege will continue to focus on the development of quality and connotation, strengthen curriculum integration, deepen cooperation areas, enhance academic exchanges among teachers, continuously improve the quality of talent cultivation, enhance the influence of running the school, build the brand ofNEFU, and contribute to the construction of the "Double First-Class" university.
