To help parents gain a comprehensive understanding of the college's educational situation and distinctive features, and to provide candidates with a multi-channel development platform, as well as an immersive experience of the college's culture, the Aulin College of Northeast Forestry University, in collaboration with its overseas partner university - the University of Auckland (referred to as: UoA), successfully held a campus open day and joint college admission consultation event on June 11th. Professor Liu Zhiming, the dean of Aulin College, Professor Sebastian Link, the vice dean of the Faculty of Science at UoA, Dr. Duncan McGillivray, the head of the Department of Chemistry, and Dr. Kathryn Jones, the deputy head of the Department of Biology, along with Liu Xiangyue, the head of the Development and Cooperation Office of Aulin College, and Li Na, the director of the Project Center, among other college staff, participated in this event, guiding candidates and their parents to explore Aulin College and get a "close-up" view of its unique features and distinctive educational model.

At the Open Day event, representatives from both schools first extended a warm welcome to the candidates and their parents. Professor Sebastian Link, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Science at the University of Auckland, introduced the basic situation of the University of Auckland.

President Liu Zhiming of Aulin College gave a detailed introduction to the basic situation, educational model, distinctive features, and students' growth and success of Aulin College. He also presented to parents and candidates the college's international talent cultivation, faculty, educational environment, and the study and life of students who have gone to the University of Adelaide.

Next, the three foreign professional directors respectively gave detailed introductions on the training mode, research directions, professional teaching staff and employment prospects of the students from Aulin after they go abroad to study at the University of Auckland.

During the Q&A session, candidates and parents were very active in asking questions, inquiring about admission requirements, admission conditions, future development advantages and other aspects. President Liu gave detailed and accurate answers, effectively resolving the parents' doubts.

Meanwhile, to help candidates and their parents better understand the teaching model of the college, the event specially set up a "demonstration class" session. In Room 708 of Aulin College, foreign teacher Simon was having a friendly exchange with the 2021 grade students of Aulin College. They were delving into discussions and studies on the field of computer science, taking Artificial Intelligence (AI) as the entry point. Candidates and their parents were attracted by the interactive teaching concept and kept exchanging and sharing their thoughts with each other.

Finally, Dong Yi and Zhong Hao, both students of the 2019 grade at Aulin College, shared their experiences and feelings about studying at Aulin College with their younger schoolmates through online and offline modes respectively. Dong Yi said that she never thought she would have the honor of being directly admitted to Tsinghua University for a doctoral program. It was Aulin College that provided us with a broader platform, allowing us to get in touch with the cutting-edge fields of disciplines and the most advanced experimental equipment, and gave me the confidence and sufficient opportunities to make mistakes, enabling me to choose my favorite research direction. Studying at Aulin was the most correct decision I have ever made. Zhong Hao, who is currently pursuing a master's degree at the University of Auckland, expressed via video that the training mode of Aulin College is different from that of other universities. Professors from Auckland University come directly to Donglin to teach. Under the guidance of the teachers, we complete self-improvement through discussions, exchanges, and each paper assignment. At the same time, studying abroad is also a particularly precious life experience, which has unique advantages for future applications for doctoral studies or employment.

The college also set up booths on the track and field to solve parents' questions from multiple perspectives for those who came to consult.

Through this event, all the candidates and parents have gained a certain understanding of Aulin College and witnessed the growth and success of Aulin students under the college's talent cultivation model. The college also presented its official website, WeChat public account and hotline to the candidates and parents, and welcomes them to continue to consult and deepen their understanding of the college.
