"Innovative practice project of high-level international talent training"
International lecture Week held smoothly
From November 25 to 28, the international lecture week of "innovative practice project of high-level international talent training" organized by Aulin college was held in conference room 101 of Aulin college. Mr. Song Yunfu, former director of the Foreign Affairs Department of the Ministry of health and former senior official of the World Health Organization, Wu Yugang, deputy director of the Shanghai International Training Center of the United Nations Institute for training and research, Hu Qiyuan, intern of the office of the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations Headquarters in New York, Yang Fuwen, academic planner, were invited to give lectures, and relevant staff such as Liu Zhiming, dean of the Aulin college, Luo Wei, deputy secretary, attended the activities.
In his first lecture, Mr. Song Yunfu gave lectures on the theme of "cultivating the country's feelings and pursuing the dream of international organizations - from the global fight against COVID-19 to explore global governance". Combined with his long-term experience in foreign affairs, he encouraged the students to look at world development from a global perspective and a long-term perspective under the "great changes not seen in a century". Under the theme of peace and development, he gave specific explanations on what international civil servants are, why they should pay attention to international civil servants and how to cultivate necessary qualities. Liu Zhiming, dean of Aulin college, presided over the lecture. In his summary, dean Liu said that director Song interpreted the importance of international organizations from multiple angles and dimensions, such as the call of the times, national needs and "t" talent training. He hoped that the students would have high aspirations, raise awareness and step on the ground, and gradually grow into high-level international talents with international competitiveness and can participate in global governance.
On November 26, Wu Yugang, deputy director of the Shanghai International Training Center of the United Nations Institute for training and research, introduced in detail the core competencies that major United Nations agencies and international civil servants should have from four aspects: the introduction of United Nations agencies, the current situation of Chinese staff of the United Nations, the competency of United Nations agencies and the United Nations junior professional officers project. The lecture was presided over by Luo Wei, deputy secretary of Aulin college. Through this lecture, the students learned about the importance and significance of establishing the United Nations, the 15 specialized agencies under the United Nations and the composition of its members, and more clearly the "386" core values, core competencies and management capabilities of United Nations civil servants.
On November 27, Hu Qiyuan, an intern in the office of the Under Secretary General of the United Nations headquarters in New York, gave a lecture entitled "towards the United Nations and necessary capabilities". This lecture was presided over by Liu Xiangyue, section chief of the development and Cooperation Office of Aulin college. With his internship experience, Mr. Hu encouraged the students to cherish their college time, read widely, accumulate diligently, go to the world stage as soon as possible and assume the responsibility of the young generation.
On November 28, academic planner Yang Fuwen gave a lecture on the theme of College Students' scientific research and personal competitiveness improvement. This lecture was presided over by Liu Xiangyue, section chief of the development and Cooperation Office of Aulin College. Mr. Yang shared the contents from the change of scientific research to daily life to how to select suitable scientific research projects, as well as overseas scientific research projects and tutor selection.
In March 2021, our university was approved as the base construction unit of the "high-level international talent training innovation practice project" of the Ministry of education. Relying on the platform of the project base, the first teacher development training was jointly organized by the academic affairs office and Aulin college in June, and a total of 44 teachers signed up for the training. The first batch of 35 students in the base class of "high-level international talent training innovation practice project" completed the online course of global governance this semester in October. About 200 undergraduates and postgraduates of the University listened to the international lecture in the form of online and offline. Next, Aulin college will also promote online training and other activities of the base class of "high-level international talent training and innovation practice project" to provide talent support for participating in global governance.
