On the afternoon of October 11, Northeast Forestry University and Aston University held a 2021 Video Conference on the Management Committee of Sino foreign cooperative school running projects. Professor Song Wenlong, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee and vice president, Ms. Saskia Hansen, executive vice president of Aston University, and relevant professional principals of the two universities attended the meeting.
At the meeting, song Wenlong delivered a speech. He said that the engineering management specialty cooperated with Aston University was the first project of Sino foreign cooperation in running a school. He reviewed the development of the project in recent four years and the remarkable achievements made by students. He pointed out that under the influence of global COVID-19, through unremitting efforts, the first batch of 21 students of engineering management major will soon go to Aston University for further training. In the next five years, our university will continue to explore, accumulate experience, enhance talent academic exchange, strengthen teacher training, and make efforts to promote high-level international talent training.
In her speech, Ms. Saskia Hansen, executive vice president of Aston University, expressed heartfelt thanks to all colleagues for their efforts in the past year, introduced the honors and achievements of Aston University in the past year, and provided strong support for the further development of university cooperation projects between the two sides. At the same time, he stressed that he would continue to promote in-depth cooperation and exchanges between the two sides in his future work. Professor Liu Zhiming, dean of Aulin college, Professor Mujib Rehman, director of infrastructure and Sustainable Engineering Department of engineering and physical science department of Aston University, and sun Weiguo, deputy secretary of the Party committee of the school of civil engineering, respectively reported on the operation of the project, and introduced the contents involved in project management, teaching management, enrollment and student services, It focuses on the first batch of students majoring in engineering management in 2018 who went to Aston University in the UK to study and the efforts made by both parties.
Saskia Hansen thanked the conference for its success, stressed that Aston University will cooperate closely and make joint efforts to do a good job in the follow-up work of students' study and life in the UK, and looked forward to meeting with our students in Aston as soon as possible.
