College Profile

History of the College: Northeast Forestry University Aulin College is a Sino foreign cooperative educational institution jointly established by Northeast Forestry University of China and Auckland University of New Zealand, which is not an independent legal person. It was approved by the Ministry of Education on April 15, 2019. It belongs to Northeast Forestry University (hereinafter referred to as "NEFU"), and its school location is in NEFU Campus.

School running characteristics: The college currently offers four undergraduate level majors of computer science and technology, biotechnology, chemistry and engineering management, and a master's degree in ecology. Among them, computer science and technology, biotechnology, and chemistry are the three undergraduate level majors, as well as ecology master level majors, which are offered in a Sino foreign cooperative school jointly organized with the University of Auckland, New Zealand. The major of engineering management belongs to the Sino foreign cooperative school running project jointly held with Aston University in the United Kingdom and is under the unified management of the College. It is planned to enroll 405 undergraduate students and 20 postgraduate students (10 in the plan and 10 in independent enrollment) each year.

With the aim of "introducing high-quality educational resources and improving the quality of talent training", the college has selected outstanding teachers from NEFU and foreign cooperative universities to teach in English or bilingual. With advanced teaching facilities, excellent teaching environment, independent teaching office building, 28 smart classrooms and 2 multi-functional academic lecture halls, it provides a higher class teaching form centered on students.

With the University of Auckland (UoA) in New Zealand, the University of Western Australia (UWA) in Australia, the University of Science and Technology of Sydney (UTS), and James Cook University (JCU), the Aulin IGI of Northeast Forestry University was established on January 20, 2021 to promote international scientific research cooperation and jointly cultivate doctoral students based on the College. On March 30, 2021, relying on Aulin College, the school was approved by the Ministry of Education's "Innovative Practice of High level International Talent Training" project to cultivate international talents who are interested in participating in global governance.

■ Aston University

Aston University is a famous public university in Britain. Founded in 1895, it is famous for its world-class teaching quality and close connection with industry, government and business. The school is located in the center of Birmingham, the second largest city in the UK, with beautiful campus scenery, excellent teaching facilities and accommodation conditions. In 2022, the construction and urban and rural planning of the Guardian ranked among the top 10 in the UK.

1、 Professional Profile

Undergraduates of computer science and technology, biotechnology and chemistry can complete their studies in the "3+2" or "4+0" mode.

"3+2" mode: three years in NEFU and two years in Auckland University. After completing their studies, students who meet the graduation requirements can obtain the undergraduate diploma, bachelor's degree certificate of Northeast Forestry University and the master's degree certificate of Auckland University. Under the "3+2" training mode, students majored in computer science and technology can choose to study Master of Data Science, Master of Information Technology or Master of Science at Austrian University; Students majoring in biotechnology can choose to study Master of Biotechnology or Master of Science (Biological Science) of Austrian University; Students majoring in chemistry can choose to study Master of Chemistry, Master of Food Science, Master of Wine Science or Master of Science (Chemistry) of Austrian University.

"4+0" mode: All students will study in NEFU for 4 years. After completing their studies, students who meet the graduation requirements will obtain the undergraduate diploma and bachelor's degree certificate of Northeast Forestry University;

Undergraduate students majoring in engineering management take the "3+1" mode to complete their studies. That is, the training mode in which students have studied at home for three years and abroad for one year. Students will go to Aston University for one year in the fourth year. Students who meet the conditions for degree awarding will obtain the bachelor's degree certificate, bachelor's degree certificate of Northeast Forestry University and the bachelor's degree certificate of Aston University.

Those who meet the requirements for graduation can obtain the master's degree certificate and master's degree certificate of Northeast Forestry University and the master's degree certificate of ecology or master's degree certificate of science of Auckland University. The self recruited master of ecology graduates who meet the graduation conditions can obtain a master of ecology degree certificate or a master of science degree certificate from the University of Auckland.

Sebastian Link, received his PhD in Information Systems from Massey University in 2005. He was lecturing in Information Systems at Massey University, Palmerston North, until 2007. From 2008 until 2011, Sebastian was Associate Professor at the School of Information Management at the Victoria University of Wellington.  Sebastian joined the Department of Computer Science at the University of Auckland in 2012. Sebastian received a DSc from the University of Auckland in 2015.

Biotechnology

The major of engineering management is a Sino foreign cooperative education project approved by the Ministry of Education. It integrates engineering technology, economy, management and law, and has a composite knowledge structure. NEFU CLC students:

Affected by the epidemic, the opening of borders abroad was suspended, and we were unable to continue our studies abroad. I would like to thank Northeast Forestry University, a partner college of Auckland University, for setting up the "China Learning Center" for us, which allows us to continue our study on domestic campuses. This is the second semester that I chose to study in NEFU CLC Center. I felt the warmth of home everywhere. Enrollment and admission

The enrollment of Aulin College is included in the national enrollment plan for general higher education, with 405 undergraduate students enrolled each year, including 100 for computer science and technology; Biotechnology plans to recruit 95 students every year; Chemistry plans to recruit 90 students every year; 120 persons majored in engineering management. Candidates must take part in the national unified entrance examination for general institutions of higher learning, and fill in their applications according to the enrollment batch and code published by the provincial education enrollment examination administration. After the admission of new students, the training and management are under the unified responsibility of Aulin College.

Every year, freshmen who have been admitted to other majors of Northeast Forestry University have the opportunity to enter the Aulin College through internal selection. Some courses of Aulin College are all English courses. It is recommended that English candidates apply for the exam.

Place of study and charging standard

The domestic place of study for students of Aulin College is the campus of Northeast Forestry University (No. 26 Hexing Road, Xiangfang District, Harbin, Heilongjiang Province). Students majoring in computer science and technology, biotechnology and chemistry will pay 60000 yuan/year for their studies in Northeast Forestry University. During their studies in the University of Auckland, they will pay about 46000 New Zealand dollars/year according to the standards of the University of Auckland. It is determined that students going abroad need the examination and certification process of Academic English Direct (DEP), and the examination fee is about 3000 yuan. The service fee for visa application is about 3500 yuan.

Students majoring in engineering management will pay 35000 yuan/year for their studies in Northeast Forestry University, and 18000 pounds/year for their studies in Aston University according to the standard of Aston University. ◆ Feature 1:

Teaching advantages: Aulin College strictly implements the talent training program and teaching syllabus jointly developed by both Chinese and foreign parties. Among the majors offered by Aulin College, the courses and core professional courses of the foreign partner universities account for more than one-third of the total courses and core courses, and the number of courses and teaching hours of core professional courses undertaken by foreign teachers account for more than one-third of the total courses and teaching hours. Aulin College will strictly implement the undergraduate teaching quality assurance standards issued by the Chinese government, the framework system of higher education quality standards formulated by the New Zealand government, and the higher education quality assurance system formulated by the British government to ensure the quality of talent training.

Advantages in English teaching: The college has unique academic English teaching, which replaces public foreign language courses. The study of AEAP curriculum system is parallel to the study of DEP direct courses. In the first three years, academic English teaching has been continuous. Online teaching advantages: Cloud Campus of Aulin College of Northeast Forestry University is a cloud platform designed by adopting the latest information technology, which integrates online and offline hybrid teaching at the teacher's end, multi screen learning at the student's end, supervision tour at the management end, data mining and other teaching management. During the COVID-19, Aulin College used the cloud campus to complete online teaching. In addition to the required professional courses, Aulin College also hired world-famous teachers to teach students five international general education courses through the cloud campus. FAQs on Enrollment of Aulin College

1. What is the school running advantage of Aulin College?

Aulin College adopts the educational philosophy and practice of world-class universities. The curriculum system, teaching materials, teaching methods and teaching requirements have maintained the relevant professional standards of the foreign partner universities. The two sides have jointly developed a training plan. Most of the courses offered in the specialty are bilingual or all English, using original English textbooks. Some courses are taught by foreign teachers in NEFU. At the same time, the college is equipped with high standard software and hardware facilities, so that students can experience diversity and Internationalized academic atmosphere.

The College has strengthened academic English teaching. In the first three years, academic English teaching has been continuous. Those whose average academic English DEP score reaches 65 or above (no less than 60 points in a single semester) will be exempted from IELTS or TOEFL, and will be directly recognized by the University of Auckland for their English ability. If the average score of academic English DEP reaches 70 points or above (no less than 65 points in a single semester), the students will be exempted from the IELTS or TOEFL test and will be directly recognized by Aston University for their English ability.

2. What are the characteristics of the training mode of Aulin College? When do students choose to go abroad?

The biggest feature is its school running purpose, development concept and diversified training mode. Students jointly trained with the University can choose the "3+2" or "4+0" training mode to complete their studies. If "3+2" training mode is selected, students will go abroad in the fourth academic year. Students who choose the "4+0" training mode can apply for short-term learning exchange at the University during their undergraduate period.

There is only one "3+1" training mode for the major of engineering management. Students will study in Aston University in the fourth year. After graduation, they can apply for continuing to study for a master's degree in the United Kingdom, or apply for guaranteed research after meeting the conditions for exemption by our university and acceptance by Aston University. Students going abroad will be the first to obtain the qualification for exemption application. If the results do not meet the requirements for going abroad, you should continue to study in the original major and take 15.5 credits of all English online international courses in the fourth year. If the students who cannot go abroad because of the results do not meet the requirements for the NEFU graduation degree, they can apply for the NEFU undergraduate diploma and bachelor's degree certificate, and cannot obtain the bachelor's degree certificate from Aston University!

3. Does Aulin College have any requirements for English when it enrolls, and can it adapt to bilingual or full English teaching after enrollment?

The college has no mandatory requirements on the English scores of the college entrance examination, but it is recommended that the examiners English scores should be above 100. After the students enter the school, the college has excellent foreign teachers to teach academic English. At the same time, the college provides Chinese teachers for foreign teachers to teach in China. Therefore, most students can adapt to the bilingual or all English teaching environment in only 1-2 semesters.

4. What are the diplomas and degree certificates of Aulin Students?

A: Like other NEFU colleges, the graduation certificates and degree certificates of all majors of the College are issued by Northeast Forestry University. There is no word of the College and no separate marks for Chinese foreign cooperative education majors. The bachelor's degree certificate issued by Aston University and the master's degree certificate issued by Auckland University are not marked with special words.

5. Is professional transfer allowed?

Students are not allowed to transfer to other majors in our school, nor can they transfer to other majors in Aulin College. Every year, freshmen who have been admitted to other majors of Northeast Forestry University have the opportunity to enter the Aulin College through internal selection.

6. Are there opportunities for research guarantee?

Students who choose the "4+0" training mode of Austrian University can apply for guaranteed research after meeting the conditions for promotion and exemption of our university. Students who choose the "3+1" training mode of Aston University will have the priority to obtain the exemption application qualification after meeting the exemption conditions of our university and the admission conditions of foreign universities.

7. What are the scholarships of Aulin College?

The students of Aulin College are the same as those of other majors. Students with outstanding achievements can apply for national scholarships, the "Aulin Scholarship" of the Aulin College of Northeast Forestry University, the postgraduate scholarship of the Aulin College of Northeast Forestry University, the special scholarship for Aochen Studies of Northeast Forestry University, the Aochen International Education Exchange Fund of Northeast Forestry University and other scholarships. After going abroad, students of Aulin College can also apply for various scholarships provided by foreign partner universities.
