Profile/Career Summary:
I am currently Senior Lecturer in Quantity Surveying within the Engineering Systems & Management Group of the School of Engineering and Applied Science, Aston University, Birmingham. I am also Programme Director for the CIOB and RICS accredited BSc(Hons) Construction Project Management and BSc(Hons) Quantity Surveying programmes.
I was previously Senior Lecturer in Construction Project Management and Quantity Surveying at the Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE, previously School of Engineering and the Built Environment (SEBE)), University of Wolverhampton from September 2007 to January 2019. During this time I lectured at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as internationally. I also delivered project management modules at the University of Coventry and University of the West of England. I was Course Leader for the UoW MSc Programme and Project Management award which we delivered both in the UK and overseas in Singapore.
As part of my role, I am actively involved in grant applications, management of research projects and research dissemination activities. I currently direct and supervise PhD projects in areas of health and safety, waste management, WASH, construction procurement and dispute resolution. I have successfully delivered a number of funded projects including an EU funded €8.998M INTERREG IVB North West Europe C2C BIZZ project (2011 –2015) (€568K University of Wolverhampton component).
My academic role is underpinned by professional Quantity Surveying (QS) experience as freelance QS for Wolverhampton based building contractor (Greyline Construction). I had previously worked for building and civil engineering contractor (Emefs Construction, Ghana), primarily in their housebuilding division.
